Instalação do Lucent Win Modem

Não sou expert em Linux e estou tendo dificuldade na instalação desse modem. O Fedora detecta, porém não sei como instalar e configurar ....

Rodei um programa ScanModem e veio o seguinte relatório abaixo:
Se alguém puder me dar o passo-a-passo para conseguir configurar agradeço muito !

Resident PPP support modules are properly uncompressed .
======= Fedora code changes =======
SmartLink slmodem-2.9.n, Lucent/Agere DSP, Intel 536ep and 537 drivers are already Fedora competent. For usage of winmodems with the kernel-2.4.nn Fedora releases a change in the serial-like driver code of WinModems is necessary.

Basically , the line:
if ((tty->count == 1) && (state->count != 1)) {
should be changed into:
if (atomic_read(&tty->count) == 1 && state->count != 1) {

An error about "rs_close" during compiling is a signature that the fedora fix is needed

Beginning with Fedora 2 kernel-2.6.6-1.427, kernel-headers needed for compiling drivers are provide at: /lib/modules/kernel-version/build/
Thus upgrading above kernel 2.6.5-1.358 to 2.6.6-* is Stongly Recommended
redhat is not yet providing pre-compiled drivers for WinModems

Vaja o Chip do Modem , de for chip Agere V92 não tem suporte pra linux, alguns falam que o último driver feito da suporte , mas eu nunca consegui instalar , e olha que eu já fiz vários Wuimodens fincionarem em Linux até o V90 Da Lucent con chip Agere mas o V92 não.Parece que o problema é que a empresa abandonou o projeto do driver e não disponibiliza o código pra galera fazer acontecer.

Abri minha máquina e os únicos chips que tem no modem são da própria Lucent ....
Se tiver outra coisa para eu fazer basta falar ....

Fala Luis,

O negocio é o seguinte, o fedora detecta mas não instala pois não tem o driver, o driver pode ser baixado neste site www.jcmp3.cjb.net pois os mesmos não são feito pela fabricante.

Faça o download do driver e grave-o no seu home ou diretorio de preferencia.

#tar -xzvf ltmodem-XXXX.tar.gz

Apos descompactar a pasta entre nela com o comando

#cd ltmodem-XXXX

Para instalar o driver digite:

#./build_module
#./ltinst2

Agora é só configurar o PPP.

Olha meus amigos, não sei se é complicado assim ou se é falta de costume com o Linux ....
No site http://www.jcmp3.cjb.net/ existem vários drivers para a Lucent win modem PCI....
O kernel que está rodando no Fedora na minha máquina (segundo um amigo meu, eu saberia pelo comando no terminal # uname -a) é o 2.6.5-1.358 e neste site não existe nenhuma versão do driver que tenha esse kernel....
Não sei se estou ficando desanimado ou desesperado, pois queria muito configurar meu modem pelo Fedora ....
Alguma dica ?

Não esqueça de avisar antes de postar qual o seu kernel, agora que você já sabe como olhar.
Eu não conhecia como instalar esse winmodem no kernel 2.6, mas após uma pesquisa descobri como.
Eu testei aqui e funcionou tranquilo. O processo agora é bem mais complicado, recomendo que você peça ajuda.

Lembrando, o tutorial está para o conectiva 10, mas testei no fedora e funcionou. Se não for dessa vez, acenda uma vela em cima do seu micro e reza...
